Seven highlights from the Milan Fashion Week

October 07 2019
This Sunday, the 22nd, the Milan Fashion Week/spring-summer 2020 ended. The days were filled with surprises, renovations, new positionings as well as remembering the old ones. Walter Rodrigues, designer and member of Inspiramais Design Center, selected seven brands to highlight. Take a look!

Surprise - Versace
September 20, 2019 - a Friday night, which in fashion history will be forever remembered for the five minutes it took Jennifer Lopez to break the Internet at the end of Donatella Versace's spring-summer fashion show, according to Tim Blanks - Business of Fashion website content editor.

Renovation 01 - Fendi
The first collection created by Silvia Venturini Fendi, without the mentorship of Karl Lagerfeld, who worked at Fendi for fifty years. It was a sun collection, impregnated with the colors of Rome. All the standards of the brand were represented there, the sophisticated fabrics, the precious leathers and the incredible accessories that are always some of the most desired items around the world. Bravo!

Renovation 02 - Bottega Veneta
Repositioning the Daniel Lee brand, it imposes its vision with a firm hand, making us forget about the company's recent past. The collection echoed that strength: bold and exaggerated silhouettes, military and utilitarian clothing details, very monochromatic from head to toe and a lot of leather. The traditional tresse, which is a traditional reference of Bottega Veneta, appears in the season's accessories, and is stunning in the maxi shoulder bags.

New Positionings 01 - Prada
Miuccia Prada emphasized the importance of people in relation to clothes in his speech. Engaged in these new times where sustainability is a quality standard, it seeks to establish new positionings in its products by simplifying shapes and also reusing materials. But this season's hit was really his python skin floppy hat.

New Positionings 02 - Marni
Francesco Risso showed off his new Marni collection on the same day as the Global Climate Strike. Inspired by his journey to the Amazon, Bela Gil's friend Risso met Caetano and Gilberto Gil and was enchanted by Tropicália. Wildly applied flower prints on recycled fabrics, organic cotton and reclaimed leather. The message sent was that luxury can be redefined by a revolution.

The usual 01 - Gucci
The same old mixture, lots of colors, no prints, surprisingly sexy, but a kinky sexy.  "Fashion has one function: letting people travel through realms of possibilities, allowing all forms of diversity, feeding indispensable skills of self-knowledge - said Alessandro Michele."

The usual 02 - Armani
With all the respect due for the legacy that Giorgio Armani has built, and all the success of his business, there is nothing new yet. The suits, diaphanous dresses, and usual dresses with a certain lightness and at the same time cold and far from all that was expressed in this thought-provoking week that was Milan Fashion Week for spring-summer 2019. Thanks for confirming light blue and pink.
