Flávia Vanelli

Flávia Vanelli is a designer. She has a degree in Social Communication and specializes in the creation and development of products focused on research and strategic action in the areas of innovation, sustainability and value chains. She worked as a designer at Estúdio Orbitato (in the state of Santa Catarina) since it was established. As of 2009, she has been at the helm of the Santa Catarina-based RatoRói Moda e Design, a company that operates in the fields of design, innovation, and development of new surfaces and products, as well as in its entire context of influences by mapping opportunities, challenges and solutions that may boost the chain’s commitment up to the final consumer. In 2017, RatoRói participated at the Global ICV Cycle, a project that promotes innovation and sustainability in Global Value Chains, with the support of the Center for Sustainability Studies of the Business Administration School of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (GVces) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). It also participated at Brazilian Design Solutions, which attracted buyers from several parts of Brazil interested in our biodiversity and in sustainable solutions for the world. The result of Flávia’s track record has already been exhibited at Première Vision, in Paris and Shanghai; at Heimtextil, in Frankfurt (Germany); at Designers Fair, in Chennai (India); at the World Design Summit; and at the Be Brasil Space, in Milan, during Fuorisalone at the Salone del Mobile di Milano (Milan’s Furniture Fair).

Awards and Recognitions:

Over the course of her career, Flávia Vanelli has received recognitions from the Industry Federation of the State of Santa Catarina (FIESC) and Centro Design Catarina (Catarina Design Center), coordinators of the Brazilian Design Biennial. She has also received the D. Catarina Award and has exhibited her work during the Prêmio Design Museu da Casa Brasileira (Design Award of the Brazilian House Museum), and Prêmio Objeto Brasileiro (Brazilian Object Award).
